Morgan Smith
Morgan graduated from Columbia College, Columbia University in addition to the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was picked to be the Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). He made his professional debut at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith is one of the Seattle favourite, has appeared in over 12 productions including Don Giovanni in the title role, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo from I Puritani. He also appeared as Peter Niles, in Mourning is Electra. Smith has a long-running career as a performer on concert stages. Smith was the first to make his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and also performed with The San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of Brahms loved cycle Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Other concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle; Mass that is in C Minor from Mozart as well as the Mass that is in G Minor and Mass in G Minor of Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass Numerous Cantatas, and Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah and L'Allegro and the il Penseroso ed il Moderato; as well as Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
